Show Categories

 
     
  The following information from our 2011 quilt show is being provided to give you a basic idea of the categories we have used in the past. Information for our 2013 show categories will be updated in early 2012. Please check back for updates!  
     
  2011 Individual Quilt Categories:
A category will be considered viable and prizes awarded when at least 5 entries are received in that category. If a category has less than 5 entries, we reserve the right to move the entries to another category if possible. All categories, except Collaborative, must be made entirely by one person.
 
     
 
    Pieced Quilts
Large:   50% or more of quilt top is pieced; length plus width must be greater than 139 inches.
Medium:   50% or more of quilt top is pieced; length plus width must equal between 86 - 139 inches.
Small:   Small Pieced: 50% or more of quilt top is pieced; length plus width must equal between 31 - 85 inches.
 
     
 
    Applique Quilts
Lrg/Med:   50% or more of quilt top is applique; length plus width must be greater than 85 inches.
Small:   50% or more of quilt top is applique; length plus width must equal between 31 - 85 inches.
 
     
 
  Miniatures
  Any technique; length plus width must be 30 inches or less.
 
     
 
  Innovative Design:
  Any technique or size. Entrant's own creative design or original interpretation of a design. May be traditional or contemporary.
 
     
 
  Wearables:
  Any technique; some quilting required.
 
     
 
  Youth:
  Any technique or size; made by child 18 or under.
 
     
 
  Guild Challenge - 2010
  2010 Challenge - “Think Green”. Participating guild members swap UFO blocks. The challenge is to create a quilt based on someone else’s submitted block and utilize that block in any form somewhere in the quilt design.
 
     
  Collaborative Quilt Categories:  
  These quilts refer to a quilt made in a joint effort between two or more people. 
This includes piecing, appliqué, machine or hand quilting or any other technique used to make the quilt. 
 
     
 
Large:   Any technique, length plus width must be greater than 139 inches.
Med/Sm:   Any technique, length plus width must be equal to 139 inches or less.
