Meeting Activities

  Secret Quilter:
During the December guild meeting members fill out forms indicating their likes and dislikes. The forms are put into a bag and participants draw their “secret quilter.”  Members secretly bring at least six little gifts to their “quilter” throughout the year. Secret quilters reveal themselves to one another at the December meeting.

  Prizes:
There are two prize drawings at each meeting. The membership drawing is given to someone at the meeting based on the sign-in sheets. You must sign-in to be eligible for the drawing. The door prize is drawn from tickets sold at the meeting. Door prize tickets are 25 cents each or 5 for a dollar.

  Mystery Quilt:
Members who sign up to participate in the guild’s annual Mystery Quilt receive a “clue” at each guild meeting or by email for several months.

  Block of the Month:
Each month, a different block pattern is published in the newsletter and is also available on the website. Members make a block, put their name on it and turn it in at the meeting. The blocks are put into a bag and one is drawn. That block’s owner wins all the blocks.

  Kudos:
Members who have notable accomplishments are recognized during the meeting. A sign-in sheet is available before the meeting to list this information.

  Sunshine:
Know a guild member who is ill, has lost a loved one, or needs a note of encouragement? Inform the Sunshine Chair, and she will provide a little “sunshine” in the form of a card from the guild.

  Show & Tell:
Members bring in finished quilts, quilt tops, clothing, etc. that they have made to share with members. It’s like a quilt show at every meeting! Check out our Photo Galleries to see what some of us have been up to!

  Name Tags:
Guild members are expected to wear name badges.  Many members make one based on the pattern of the last donation quilt, but any pattern will do. Those who forget to wear a badge are fined 25 cents and given a paper nametag to wear.  One of the fun nights is usually scheduled to make nametags, and patterns are furnished based on the current donation quilt design.

  Sign In Sheet:
Sign in at the table as you enter the meeting room.  Knowing the number of members and guests present guide us in planning our meeting setups. And, you become eligible for the membership drawing!
